How to open an Apple developer account

Follow the steps below to successfully sign up for an iOS Developer Account with Apple:

Step-by-Step Guide to Enroll in the Apple Developer Program

  1. Visit Apple’s Developer Enrollment Page

  2. Start Enrollment

    • Click on “Start Your Enrollment” to initiate the process.

  3. Create a New Apple ID

    • Select “Create Apple ID” to generate a new account specifically for the Developer Program.
    • Note: Existing Apple IDs cannot be used for this enrollment.

  4. Agree to the Apple Developer Agreement

    • Read and agree to the terms by checking the appropriate box and clicking “Submit.”

  5. Confirm Your Information

    • Verify your email address, name, and country location.
    • Select an option from the Entity Type dropdown:
      • Individual/Sole Proprietor/Single Person Business: Ideal for individuals or non-registered businesses.
      • Company/Organization: Requires a Dun & Bradstreet (D-U-N-S®) Number for verification. Allows for multiple user logins.

    Important Notes:

    • You can upgrade from an Individual account to a Company/Organization account later.
    • Starting with an Individual account is recommended for simplicity and speed.

  6. Provide Contact Information

    • Enter the necessary contact details for your Developer Account.

  7. Accept the License Agreement

    • Review the Apple Developer Program License Agreement and check the corresponding box to accept. Click “Continue.”

  8. Confirm Account Details

    • Verify your Apple ID Information, Entity Type, and Contact Information. Click “Continue.”

  9. Choose Auto-Renewal (Optional)

    • Opt for automatic yearly renewal if desired, then click “Purchase” to enroll and pay for the program.

  10. Sign In with Your Apple ID

    • Enter your Apple ID credentials to proceed.

  11. Complete Payment

    • Provide billing information and click “Continue” to finalize payment for the yearly $99 (USD) or €99 (Europe) membership fee.

  12. Finalize Account Setup

    • Complete any additional information requested on subsequent screens.
    • Apple will send a confirmation email within 24 hours to notify you of successful enrollment.

  13. Notify INSOFTDEV

  14. Invite INSOFTDEV to Your Development Team

  15. Share Your Account Information with INSOFTDEV

    • Individual Accounts: Provide your email and login details.
    • Company/Organization Accounts: Share the following details:
      • Team Name
      • Team ID
      • Team Agent (email)

Important Notes

  • Accounts must be registered using a new Apple ID, and the email and password should not be changed.
  • Do Not Enable Two-Factor Authentication for your Apple ID, as it could restrict INSOFTDEV’s access to your account and app transfers.
  • The annual cost for the Apple Developer Program membership is $99 (USD) in the U.S. or €99 in Europe. Renewal is required each year to maintain the app on the store.
