SmartCar Backoffice May 2025

We’re pleased to share the May 2025 updates to the SmartCar Backoffice platform.

This release delivers new features, interface improvements, advanced dispatching tools, enhanced integrations, and several essential bug fixes aimed at boosting operational efficiency and strengthening platform stability across all fleet sizes.


🚀 New Features

Driver Monitoring & Notifications

[SCW-181] Late Driver Alerts

You will now receive clear notifications when a driver is running late — both visually on the main Backoffice screen and via the notification panel. This ensures improved awareness and faster response from dispatch teams.

[SCW-182] Speeding Alerts

New real-time alerts notify you when a driver is exceeding speed limits, increasing safety and oversight across your fleet.


Advanced Dispatching

[SCBE-94] Bulk Allocation

Bulk allocation is now available! Dispatchers can assign multiple bookings in advance to groups of drivers, enabling better planning and more efficient route distribution.


Stripe Payment Integration

[SCBE-97] Generate Stripe Payment Links

Stripe is now directly integrated into the booking interface. With one click, dispatchers can generate secure payment links for clients, simplifying payment collection.


Booking.com Integration Enhancements

A series of improvements to strengthen the Backoffice–Booking.com sync:

  • [SCBE-78] Improved webhook and Genius API communication
  • [SCBE-79] Ability to temporarily disable the Booking.com integration when your fleet is at full capacity
  • [SCBE-80] Fixed validation error when assigning drivers to Booking.com reservations

Geoapify Integration

[SCBE-77] New Address Search & Direction Provider

A powerful new address search engine improves geolocation accuracy, offering more reliable results for pickups, drop-offs, and routing.

Booking & Voucher Enhancements

  • [SCBE-75] Driver app-created bookings now bypass voucher validation to speed up workflow
  • [SCBE-76] VIA points are now included in exported booking CSV files for more complete reporting

Email & Messaging

  • [SCBE-89] Improved email formatting (Amazon SES), preventing issues with special characters
  • [SCBE-100] Send messages directly to drivers from the Backoffice
  • [SCBE-101] Better performance and stability in background queue processing

Driver Scheduling

[SCBE-93] Scheduler Upgrade

A major enhancement to the scheduling module, including:

  • Per-driver and per-car assignment management
  • Improved dashboard visibility
  • More intuitive filtering and navigation

CMAC Integration

[SCBE-87] CMAC ETA & Display Name Improvements

  • More accurate integer ETA processing
  • Better handling of display names with special characters

Revolut Payments

[SCBE-91] Compliance Update

Revolut payment handling has been updated to comply with the latest regulatory and system requirements.


TfL Compliance Reports

[SCBE-92] TfL Reporting Update

Reports have been updated to meet the latest Transport for London regulation standards.

  • [SCBE-82] Fixed custom report issue where bookings outside the selected time range appeared incorrectly
  • [SCBE-86] Fixed intermittent Firebase driver notification failures
  • [SCBE-88] Resolved errors related to driver category assignments
  • [SCBE-95] Corrected VIA points handling inside bookings
  • [SCBE-98] Fixed error where updating a driver’s document expiry set the status to “Pending”
  • [SCW-167] Fixed issue preventing vehicle type selection when creating or updating booking quotes
  • [SCBE-90] Improved login authentication flow for stronger reliability and security
